It is important to ensure that your project surface is clean, free of any dust, grease, wax, peeling paint, mold, or mildew. If washing is necessary, use a non-soapy detergent or a TSP substitute, rinse well, and allow to dry. For best results, scrape off any loose paint and sand the surface to a smooth finish. On challenging surfaces, apply a coat of primer before using KILZ Chalk Spray Paint.

To guarantee optimal results, it is recommended to apply the spray paint when the surface, air, and product temperatures are between 50°-90°F. Avoid painting in direct sunlight, ensure adequate ventilation when spraying indoors, and cover adjacent areas to prevent overspray. Applying multiple thin coats will help prevent dripping and sagging, allowing each coat to dry before applying the next. The spray paint dries to touch in just 15 minutes and can be re-coated after 45 minutes.
